Belief in Jinn..
On the occasion of discussing the second pillar of faith, which is the belief in the existence of “angels”, peace be upon them, we present the issue of belief in the existence of jinn and demons.
Because they are from the unseen which the believer is commanded to believe in.
قال تعالى"خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ * وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ" .سورة الرحمن / آية : 14 ، 15 .
"He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery, and the jinn: He created from a smokeless flame of fire".
Also in ayat in surat Azariat (56-58). Surat Al Kahf (55).
Surat Al A'araf (11-18).
The prophet said that no one should eat with his left hand as the devil (Ashaitan) eats with his left hand. Narrated by Moslem, Malek and Abi Dawood.
The evidences for the existence of jinn and demons are many.
Is there a difference between the jinn and the devil?
Yes. There is a big difference between the jinn and the devils.
Sublime creation is of four types: angels, human beings, jinn, and demons.
The angels: an independent spiritual world that has its own characteristics, attributes, and conditions. The research has been presented extensively in explaining the reality of this noble, supreme world.
Humans: It is known, and it is the kind of human beings, including the unbeliever and the believer.
Jinn: are two types:
Demons that have no good in them at all
Some of Jinn are good and some of them are corrupt, so their condition is like that of people.
However, the devils originated from the jinn. This is because Iblees - may Allah curse him - was one of the jinn and he defied the command of his Lord.
قال تعالى " إلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ كَانَ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَفَسَقَ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِ" سورة الكهف / آية : 50 .
"He was of the jinn and departed from [i.e., disobeyed] the command of his Lord"
Whoever fails, revolts, and is cut off from the goodness, either he is of the jinn or of human beings, becomes a “devil”, for if he is a tyrant, he is said to be a “genie”.
قال تعالى " شَيَاطِينَ الإِنسِ وَالْجِنِّ يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُورًا ". سورة الأنعام / آية : 112 .
"devils from mankind and jinn, inspiring to one another decorative speech in delusion".
قال تعالى "وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُجَادِلُ فِي اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَيْطَانٍ مَّرِيدٍ *كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ مَن تَوَلَّاهُ فَأَنَّهُ يُضِلُّهُ وَيَهْدِيهِ إِلَى عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ" .سورة الحج / آية : 3 ، 4 .
"And of the people is he who disputes about Allāh without knowledge and follows every rebellious devil..It has been decreed for him [i.e., every devil] that whoever turns to him - he will misguide him and will lead him to the punishment of the Blaze."
وقال تعالى "قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآنًا عَجَبًا *يَهْدِي إِلَى الرُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّا بِهِ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَا أَحَدًا ".سورة الجن / آية : 1 ، 2
إلى قوله تعالى " وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَلِكَ كُنَّا طَرَائِقَ قِدَدًا ". سورة الجن / آية : 11 .
"Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinn listened (to this Qur’ân). They said: ‘Verily, we have heard a wonderful Recitation (this Qur’ân)!
It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allâh)."
Till
"There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups having different ways (religious sects)".
That is, there are righteous jinn and there are the contrary, and the righteous jinn will enter Paradise if they die on faith.
Do jinn harm people?
Yes. The harm of the jinn to humans is constant and cannot be denied. Unless the Angels entrusted by Allah for the preservation of man, the harm would be severe.
Therefore, a person has to fortify himself from the devils, and beware of them.
